Happy First Birthday To Me!!!

Whoa, I totally forgot to do this the other day cause I was majorly busy(/lazy) but here I am doing it now. The 25th of November was the first birthday of Stale Popcorn! Well, to be exact, it was just the date that I did my first entry on my blog because back then it wasn't "Stale Popcorn". No, I decided to make it that randomly when I got back from my trip to America (where I met Nathaniel - funny how in that entry I mused that the posting would be less frequent, but instead it just became much MUCH more common). Matter of fact, fifteen minutes after writing that blog entry I made this one and that's pretty much where it really began to be a place of more than just me trying to not take up too much room on other people's blog's with my inane ramblings.

Anyway, here are just some of my favourites entries (out of 840, most of which were pointless probably) from the past year (reading some of these entries makes me laugh because they are so poorly done and filled with typos and errors. oh well.)

December 6 - Explaining why Australia's rating system is better than America's - It really is.

December 20 - Discussing the death of one of my favourite performers - Aaliyah was beautiful.

January 8 - 68 Anticipated Movies of 2006 - The top 10 in reverse order were Southland Tales (still unseen), The Prestige (seen just last week, i really quite liked it), A Prairie Home Companion (charming), The Notorious Bettie Page (still unreleased down here, still anticipated), Factory Girl (unreleased yet, but I can't wait), Volver (seriously, December 21 can't come fast enough), For Your Consideration (my excitement has wained, but I still wanna see it cause it's Christopher Guest), Manderlay (I'm not sure what's happening with this down here to be honest), Marie Antoinette (out Boxing Day. EEP) and number 1 was David Lynch's Inland Empire and it's still my #1.

January 12 - Memoirs of a Geisha Mad TV Spoof - this never fails to be funny

February 08 - Catherine Breillat wants to kill you and eat your soul - I'm still sure she does.

March 9 - I knew I'd like The Black Dahlia! - But for all wrong reasons

March 12 - Gallipoli and Brokeback Mountain have a lot in common - seriously

April 6 - The 'Possibly-crazy-woman-(usually-with-child)-tries-to-uncover-the-scary-truth' sub-genre is (unfortunately) alive and kicking - OY!

April 14 - 6 Most Annoying Screen Characters - Just thinking of them makes my blood boil.

April 21 - "That's so Colour Purple" never caught on - unfortunately

April 28 - I call bullshit on Beyonce and Terrance Howard - What idiots

April 28 - Michelle Pfeiffer Blog-a-thon - 'twas so much fun

May 10 - LOL - I rechecked Amazon and it is still indeed the coverart.

May 14 - *sigh* - that's all I got. *sigh*

May 21 - Liveblogging the 51st Annual Eurovision Song Contest - That was so much fun, but exhausting

June 5 - Cate and Oscar - This question still stands

June 14 - 12 things you probably didn't know about me - wacky stuff

June 25 - Nicole Kidman isn't a good on-screen wife - My scientific tests prove it

June 29 - Dione Beebe appreciation - and, yeah, add Miami Vice to that list

July 26 - Happy Bastille Day - a French marathon + hot dude ogling. Seriously. Vincent Cassell? *explodes* I could stare at him all day.

July 26 - Hilary Swank is ten times more stupid because she's associated with this movie - seriously. Those two oscars are workin' for her, aren't they?

August 22 - My Favourite 101 songs of all time - I regret that some titles didn't make it in. I wish I had slotted them in somewhere.

August 24 - The IMDb is stupid - It became a recurring trend with me (pointing out IMDb's shortcomings) but this seemed to be the peak

August 24 - http://kamikazecamel.blogspot.com/2006/08/snakes-on-lol.htmlSnakes on a LOL - I may ramble a lot and not make much sense, but never say I can't be succinct when I wanna be

August 27 - I hate the Shrek franchise - Shrek 2 is truly a pathetic excuse for a movie (if you can even call it a "movie")

August 28 - Welcome to the Cannavale - Bobby Cannavale is seriously sexy

August 31 - I like to procrastinate - Infact, I'm doing so right now

September 8 - Inland Empire loving - i can't wait

September 10 - Footy Legends was the only movie I gave an F to this year - Although I was close to a second with American Dreamz

September 11 - Hilary Swank comes from a trailer park!!!! - and is also "insolent" apparently

September 14 - Rachel Ray will devour your soul - She's sorta like Catherine Breillat, but even less creative in how she does it

October 2 - To Wes with Love - I Heart Wes Craven

October 4 - Over the Hedge vs Cars - FUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

October 12 - From the desk of Hugh Jackman - He's hot and wished me well on my birthday. How nice of him!

October 16 - Birth - a requiem in three acts - that movie truly is brilliant

October 17 - Top 10 Scary Movies - They scare me (but, thankfully, not to death)

October 30 - The comedy sensation of 2006 is... ...Freedomland

November 6 - I can be such a nerd sometimes - Alas, not a hot nerd like Daniel Craig in Enduring Love

November 11 - David Lynch is crazy - And that's why we love him!

And now? Now I'm hungry.

Happy birthday to your blog! Kudos for you to always being hilarious and interesting, and then hilarious again. You really do crack me up, and I hear you're just as fun in person! And you're adorable, too! What a blog.. ;)

By the way, your Mulholland Drive theory is interesting. What do you think of the clue inside the DVD that asks where Aunt Ruth is at the end of the film? I still can't figure out what David Lynch meant by placing that on the list.

you hear I'm just as fun in person? eep. Who have you been speaking too? :P

I honestly don't know about Aunt Ruth. That's a puzzler.

Thanks for a whole year of insane blogging and brilliant pop culture musings. The output you have going here would rival a full-time net columnist anyday! I always enjoy visiting your site because I know that it will be updated, fresh (not stale), and chock full of Glenn goodness.

Here's to many more years!

An awesome happy birthday, but you better not let your life interfere with your blogging or I'll boycott every Australian release that comes my way :P

We love you Glenn.

Uruguay loves you!!!

Believe me Glenn, I'm the one who has no life. It's just that you are more proactive about posting when you have free time. There are instances where I am online for hours at a time and absolutely nothing of value occurs in that span. It's quite pathetic.
