No offense to Steven Spielberg, Danny Glover, Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg or anyone else assosciated with The Color Purple but Lisa's non-stop Dreamgirls Blog is reporting that Danny Glover has said "...This is going to be quite powerful. In 20 years time they're going to be talking about it in the way they talk about The Color Purple."
Umm... how many people really talk about The Color Purple? Unless we're discussing Oprah Winfrey's movie career or movies that got the most Oscar nominations with zero wins. The movie doesn't exactly pop up in conversation does it. People don't go around quoting it or saying "Oh Sally, that's SO Color Purple". Or, maybe they do in America and nowhere else? It doesn't even really come up in discussions about Steven Spielberg (it seems that Schindler's List is his first important movie?
Maybe I should see The Color Purple. It was on TV a few months back but forgot about it. 'tev. Still, I wanna see Dreamgirls, but... yeah. huh?
