Cannes watch: Suburban Mayhem

The black comedy Suburban Mayhem, filmed in Newcastle, will screen in the Un Certain Regard section of the festival after attracting the attention of the committee.

Well that's certainly good news for the film. Mayhem appeared in my 2006 Australian forecast but not it may just get bumped up a couple of spots. Apparently Emily Barclay (who most recently was in The Silence) gives a great performance. Of course it could all turn out to be nothing. When Love Serenade won the Un Certain Regard at Cannes it was seen as a good thing, however the movie was absolute shite.

Oh well, whatever. We'll see how this one develops.

I don't know what I'd rather. Watching Love Serenade again or having my own helping of beef with black bean sauce that they serve. It... did not look tasty.
