Hmmm
So, basically this story is just another excuse for Madonna to ignore Australia despite going on a, ahem, "world tour". I'll believe she does a "world tour" when she actually tours around the world and not just the parts she likes (America and Europe, mostly). Your upcoming album better not be shit Madge (a highly likely outcome considering the whole "hip-hip" angle she's going for) or I'll have even more reasons to be angry. Grrr.
VISIT AUSTRALIA, BITCH!

Vintage Bruce 4
It's Bruce's birthday in seven days. I hope he gets something special. For you we've got a performance of one of Bruce's most iconic and well-known songs, "Born to Run", done acoustically on tour in 1988. It's not quite as good as the original from the album of the same name, but not much is. At least this song sort of lends itself to being sung slow, as opposed to so many other songs that artists cover on places like Live Lounge. Also, in the clip, Bruce is majorly sexy. But, isn't he always? He rocks the wifebeater.
And for all your Bruce fans, you can pre-order his latest album Magic on iTunes. I'm going to wait and get the physical copy of it, but some people aren't as picky as me when it comes to albums.

Vintage Bruce 3
By now you all know that I worship at the alter of Springsteen, right? He is my God. I shall follow him wherever he may take me. Well my head metaphorically exploded this morning when on page three of the Herald Sun I discovered the following little article in the bottom right hand corner.

[click if you can't read it]
Not only are they offering a free download of his new song "Radio Nowhere" (in which he has recruited The E Street Band. Perhaps the one thing I worship more than Bruce is Bruce and the E Street Band. Clarence Clemons? I love him!) which is about 2789 different kinds of excellent, but they also mention that Bruce and the E Street Band are rumoured to be touring in 2008!!!!!!omg*faints*
For today's clip (every so often until his birthday on Sep 23 I'll be posting random clips for your viewing pleasure) we have Bruce and the E Street Band performing Jimmy Cliff's "Trapped". I'm not sure if this is the only time they ever performed this song, but the version I have on my iPod (from The Essential Bruce Springsteen) and this version on YouTube are exactly the same and makes me think the live version on the CD was taken from this performance. This song, for me, is sort of euphoric and all sorts of amazing. Definitely one of my top 10. Did I mention how awesome Clarence Clemons is? Cause he is. Awesome.
Seriously. Bruce in 1985 (Born in the USA period). Has there ever been anyone sexier?

It's one month and nine days until God Bruce Springsteen turns 58, which means I'll probably be posting lots of Boss-y goodness. For some reason I've been listening to Natalie Cole's "Pink Cadillac" a lot (it keeps randomly popping up on my iPod) and I realised "Hey, I wonder if there's a clip of Bruce singing it on YouTube" because it was originally a B-side of his (to "Born in the USA" if I'm not mistaken... which I probably am) and lo-and-behold there! It's probably from the Born in the USA Tour because he has apparently rarely sung it since 1985.
I must say that this was Bruce at his most sexiest too. All brutish sweaty sleeveless sex on legs, basically. "My love is bigger than a honda, yeah it's bigger than a subaru", indeed! MmmMmm. But there'll be plenty more of the sexy to come over the next month or so. Yummy. By the way, why aren't more rock stars like this today? Too many girls frothing at the mouth over the latest sensitive-guy-with-guitar routine is my guess.
