It's Britney, Bitch!

I've never been a huge fan of Britney Spears. For every amazing "Toxic" or "Slave 4 U" there's a terrible "Outrageous" or "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" and her early years are too bubblegum for me (says the man who just last week was addicted to Aqua and Bardot) and am not a fan of her albums give or take the occasional great single choice ("Overprotected" and the aforementioned "Toxic" and "Slave 4 U"). Needless to say I haven't been one of the people foaming at the mouth of new Britney tracks - especially when every day there are new pictures of her abandoning her children (and when she has them she's dangling cigarettes in their faces).

But, two tracks leaked today, which you surely have already heard. If not, "Gimme More" is below. "Gimme More" is the good one. "Cold as Fire" is the other (you can find it withing a couple of clicks on the net, surely) and it is the one that's not good. If "Gimme More" is the lead single as they say then, depending on the rest of the album, I guess they could be much worse (like, for instance, "Cold As Fire").

It's interesting to see Britney go back to dancier club-oriented music when she's trying to make a comeback because while the rest of the world likes it America is shit scared of it (see how shitty Madonna's Confessions album did compared to the rest of the world). We'll see if her name can get it over the boundary and into mainstream.

I do love the "It's Britney, bitch!" part at the start. Don't you?

I am deeply in love with this song. I know it's not perfect, but I just can't stop listening to it. I'm particularly in love with the "ah-ah ah ooh-ah"s that start at the 3 min mark.

I haven't bothered to listen to 'Cold As Fire', because I already heard it was rubbish and I don't want to ruin 'Gimme More' (*plays again*).

P.S. I ordered Darren Hayes. This better be worth it.

Shut up! You know nothing about the American music industry, only superficial information you read on wikipedia and other lame sites. America is the leader in the music industry. No question!!!!

The music scene in the US is more competitive than anywhere else. I worked for a talent agency in Atlanta, and some of the groups here and in Miami, Houston, LA, and NYC are producing awesome music that you haven't heard. The truth is that it takes a white performer (see Justin, Nelly Furtado, Fergie) to take these sounds and become successful. I was in London a few months ago and the Euro dance music is crap.

Here in the US we are evolving. In Europe and in other countries, their music is the same old shit by white people with no talent. Boring!!!!!!!

If any of you missed the Atlanta Hip Hop Film Festival, you should check it out next year. Please support American Urban music.

I think it's an established fact that dance music is, let's be honest here, not exactly America's favourite. And I mean dance/pop type music not hip-hop.

And, also, it's pretty hard not be a leader in music if you have a population of 300 million.

I'd be more than willing to support good hip-hop music, but all the stuff that we get over here from America is your mainsteam stuff and it's terrible.
