Jennifer Hudson for Best Supporting Actress?

Will this win her the statue?

Not quite Jennifer Holliday, but not many things are. I still don't understand why they're not even mentioning Hudson on the posters and billboards?

It sorta makes it look like Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx are pulling a To Wong Foo on us. And if Wesley Snipes showed us anything, it's that African-American actors should not dress in drag. Ever.

They should definitely make room for Hudson's name on the promotional material - "American Idol" fans would recognize her easily. It's so stupid not to do so, considering the fan base she clearly has.

And it's not like the producers would authorised the advertising don't know that Hudson has been getting buzz all year round.

Hudson and Anika Noni Rose should at least placed under the 'DREAMGIRLS' on the poster.

Maybe they figure Hudson's fan base will be going anyway? It is kinda weird. I thought they were going for the "surprise factor" once JHud wows everyone. But still, they should have her on the poster somewhere.

Although, truth be told, I was not that impressed with Hudson's "And I Am Tellin' You"... I guess it's just a different interpretation from Holliday's, but I think it's clearly inferior. She just doesn't have the same voice and the same power. Everything, it seems, pales in comparison to Holliday's version. She just knew how to do it. She did it RIGHT. I was a little disappointed in this new recording.

Even though I know very little about singing and musical theatre in general, even I felt Hudson's rendition here was nothing special. Then again, we're talking about acting awards here, not prizes for vocal ingenuity. I'm sure Bill Condon will draw brilliance out of her.
