Sorry bout lack of anything, ya know, worthwhile (although I do consider bagging the crap out of Hilary Swank to be time well spent) but for some reason I just haven't had anything to discuss. But I wanted to say a few things.
Did y'all watch The Path to 9/11?
The thing that bugged me the most was the annoying as hell camera work and editing. Seriously! I can understand constant editing and crazy camerawork during the actual scenes towards the end because it represents the craziness that there was and all that jazz (or in a movie like United 93, but there is no need to put 100 edits and constant spinning camera work in a scene simply involving a few people at a desk talking. And why do we need constant close-ups and random events like pouring a glass of water or picking up a pen?
And it was like that the whole movie. Fuck.
But the final stretch was typically moving. But, ya know...
There are some bits in this though that contradict other things I've read/seen so I dunno.
I liked Sherry Palmer as Condi though. Biopic plz.
(and yes, I know her name isn't Sherry Palmer but I like to think it is okay. How random was Patricia Heaton though.) C
And now I'm responding to a question that the rather delightfully insightful Richard Watts asked me in the comments to the Hilary Skank post below.
...were you considering seeing Hedwig, out of interest? If so, when?
Trust me Richard, I desperately want to but it seems the people I've asked just aren't that into rock operas about botched sex-change operations! Hopefully I can get somebody to see it with (Hannah? Georgie? I'm looking at you!) but it's $50 plus travel expenses.
But, man oh man, do I wanna see Hedwig! :( It's showing until September 27, right?
Lastly, a shout out! Just recently I did an entry about the brilliant of 'Flying High' (Airplane to you non-aussies) and Michael over at one of my favourite new blogs (well, new to my reading) No-Necked Monsters has also done a wonderful ode to the classic comedy from 1981. Michael is from Melbourne (recently returned from London, right?), so that's even cooler and he has a deformed hand (Michael, do you type with one hand?) due to an accident that I am vague about (nor do I particularly care to know the grisly details). But best of all his favourite movie is Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and it dominates the design of his blog. Cat is one of my all-timer A+ movies so, naturally, I was pleased as punch when I first clicked onto his blog.
Anyway, I'm gonna go to sleep now. Boy am I gonna have one helluva sleep in tomorrow. I wouldn't be half surprised to wake up and find it's 2010. I'm that freakin' tired.
Anyway...

I'll leave Mike to answer any questions about his hand, but as for Hedwig, I'm not sure when the Melbourne season ends, I'm sorry. I know it's been extended, but they haven't updated their website...
Hand, schmand, let's talk movies!
I just bought Cat On A Hot Tin Roof on dvd so there'll be an Airplanesque post along the way with gallons of hot hot Paul Newman hotness.
Thanks for the shout out.
We're doing Hedwig on Thursday before Q+A if you so you'll sorta kinda know of some people if you come then.
That last question was written extremely bad, but I understood what u meant!
Thanks, but I wouldn't be able to get up. :( Woe is me. Thanks though! You rock.
And I purchased Cat a couple of months ago and god it's brilliant. Paul Newman is so. fucking. hot. Seriously. Everytime I watch it I pause it at any moment where he is sans shirt and just ogle.
It's so pretty.
I demand screencaps!!
by "last question" i mean last sentence. I think my brain is falling out.
Yeah, I wrote one thing and then another but I only deleted half of the previous thought.
Yes, I type one-handed!
LOL, you're forgiven then.
