The Fountain/Dahlia/Simpsons

JoBlo is reporting that Darren Aronofski's long-delayed (remember when Brad Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston and had that really long beard? Yeah, that was the original incarnation of this movie!) 2001 A Space Odyssey-esque The Fountain has been changed to November 21. It was originally set for October 13 (also, my birthday), but... yeah. Hmmm. Maybe they see it as an awards-possibility? Though it sure does seem like the sort of movie that if it's really good that it would stick in your mind, and would'nt have to rely on being the new kid on the block to get votes.

Oh well, we will see.

JoBlo also has new pictures from Brian DePalma's The Black Dahlia. I've had a hankering for this film since I heard about it (i've been predicting a Best Picture nomination all year for it, for absolutely no reason). I love this time period on film and despite the presence of the devil herself, Hilary Swank, the cast is fine (and pretty). You can access even more pictures from the galery that Kino-Express is hosting by clicking here. There are 18 pics all up, including one image that is quite graphic in it's gore, so if you're not into that sort've stuff, don't click on that thumbnail.

There are also new Simpsons clips up at YouTube. They are only storyboard, but they show some interesting stuff. I am definitely loving the fact that, in the first clip anyway, they're using conventional camera techniques such as pans and zooms and such. This could be really good. How great would it be to hear "And the Oscar goes to... The Simpsons Movie" on Oscar night?

And lastly, can I just give a big huge kiss and thank you to JA for bring my attention to this. Colin Farrell and Jared Leto need to start hooking up for real, pronto. kthnx. Also, Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman can have cameos at ANY time. Selma Blair, notsomuch. I hate Selma Blair so much.

Scarlet looks like death in these photos. Is that intentional?
