SO HAPPY!

It's nothing terribly exciting (I didn't make out with Hugh Jackman for example), but I was freaking out that my brand knew $750 DVR wasn't able to be multi-region. And y'all? That would not be good. You see, I own a whole bunch of American DVDs that I wouldn't be able to watch (well, Panic Room worked for some reason, but nothing else). I've been perusing the internet for the last hour and a half trying to get a silly code and I couldn't find one anywhere. I was trying codes for other LG machines and they didn't work.

And then, out of the blue, I stumbled across it. With most LG players you must open the disc tray and press 0 three times. But that didn't work on mine. So at one stage I opened the tray and then just pressed 0 like a crazy mad fool and viola after something like 7 hits it came up asking if I wanted to switch to region free and I pressed yet. I popped one of my region 1 test DVDs in (American Psycho special edition if you must know) and it worked and it's the happiest I've been since I got the machine off of Layby (law-away for Americans?) last week.

That's my beautiful baby. Isn't she purdy? I think so. She oughta be at the price I paid for her!

And to think, all this came about because I wanted to watch the free DVD of Salma Heyak and Penelope Cruz' Bandidas that I got sent in the mail, but now it's so late and my brain is fried that I just wanna go to bed. But, to repeat:

SO HAPPY!

Congrats! That's very exciting (and a relief.) After struggling to unlock my Panasonic player for a year now, I bought a seemingly multi-region unit while in Dubai this summer. But I was afraid that it was too good to be true (the shop employee was a little overenthusiastic which made me suspicious), and was on pins and needles the whole plane ride back home. Happily, everything worked out and all DVDs readily play without problem.

Yeah, so I understand what you're feeling!
