The Directors of 2006

I don't like all of them, and they may not have all made the greatest movies of their careers (albeit some certainly did), but just look at this list of note-worthy directors who released films in 2006. It's mind-boggling.

Amazing. Shame that the year is ended as an average one. For me, it's not a bad year at all, but it's nowhere near a 2001 or even 2004. One thing that I've noticed thought is that in technical categories I find myself overrun my possibilities (and I haven't seen stuff like the films by Coppola, Aronofsky, Yimou, etc) but I find the very top awards quite thin in terms of really passionate stuff. I hope the films I have yet to see really boost it up. I'm settled with my number one of the year and I can't see anything overtaking it (if it does, it'll have to be goooood!). Hmmm.

Glenn, keep an open mind. The Fountain is better than United 93.

NINETY. MINUTE. HUGH. JACKMAN. ORGASM.

good list...it's very true...I feel like part of the problem this year is not even that the films are bad, but the award groups are in short term memory mode, and they go with the crowds so many roles and performances get ignored.
