Spot the Difference

Here is a picture of me from a few weeks back.

And here is a picture of me from today.

Look carefully. Can you spot the difference?

No? That's probably a good thing, because in the second picture... I HAVE GLANDULAR FEVER. Check out the details on Glandular Fever. Funnily, another name for it is "Pfeiffer's Disease" so that's sort of awesome. It's also "the kissing disease", which would be pretty funny if I'd had any lip-lock action recently. Alas...

Awesome, right?

:(

In, er, happier news I was a runner-up for The Gilded Moose's Prove Your Wit competition. It's not so much a competition (you don't win prizes) as it is a way of insulting celebrities in the form of possibly witty captions. YAYZ.

You also seem to have pretty fast growing hair.

Dude! That sucks! Did they say how serious it is, and how long they think it will last?

I just Wikipediaed it, and no contact sports for at least a month. So there's that loss. Pass the time with films. Oh! Read this book I'm reading, by Carol Clover: Men, Women and Chain Saws: Gender in the Modern Horror Film. It's fascinating. It's what I'm reading instead of the stuff I'm actually supposed to be reading for uni.

GET BETTER!

my first guess was that you looked a little gayer in the second pic...

but seriously though, i wish you a speedy recovery.

on the bright side, after years of hearing about it on american high school tv shows i finally know what mono is. your suffering is making me smarter!

LOL, glad my possibly life-threatening (pfft) illness helps you understand American sitcoms (hey, I didn't know what mono was either until today, so snaps for that)

The doctor reckons it's a mild case. I've been put on this medication but he said it should be better in a couple of weeks or so. Which I hope, cause it's my 21st is in three weeks.

But, yeah, ...go me!

People have had it much worse. Like, I've heard people having to be held back at school because they were so sick they couldn't do any work.

My symptoms include enlarged/tender lymphnodes, sore throat, fatigue, headache and loss of appetite (sometimes). So, yeah... not much fun.

Anyway.

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm gonna go watch Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction!!! I'm totally seriously.

I should point out that the top picture's date is wrong. We never changed the date to the correct one. But it must be from 2 months ago judging by the hair.

I was also going to say "longer hair", but then you gave it away. Really sorry to hear you have mono - get some rest and hopefully it will clear up soon!

BTW, that "after" shot is really funny. It's like you're saying "Hey, who woulda thought?"

Hope your stereo's working okay, until you get your mono fixed. Hang in there.
