Happy Birthday Marilyn!!!

Today is the day that is most believed to be Marilyn Monroe's birthday. Now, as we all know, the real birthdays of old-Hollywood stars is up to debate and the stars themselves, but as Marilyn is unfortunately not around to tell us that she's not turning 80 we must celebrate it on the day that it (apparently) is.

I love me some Marilyn and I continue to watch her movies. I sadly haven't seen the picture in which she is reported to give her greatest performance - Bus Stop. I have however seen her strut her stuff in a whole bunch of others.

To celebrate the life of Marilyn - arguably the greatest SUPERSTAR to ever live - watch one of her fine movies, they're all available on DVD. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is my personal fave, but the best performance of her's I have seen was in the romantic thriller (of sorts) Niagara. There's also (obviously) classics such as Some Like it Hot, The Seven Year Itch and, in a small role, All About Eve.

While she has been immatated many times, she will never be bested. She did die too young (how odd that three of my all-time favourites died tragically and young - the others being James Dead and Natalie Wood). I personally think she looked best when she was her most candid and was laughing it up instead of being MARILYN, but she was beautiful any way. Cheers Darl'.
