God, I hope this doesn't die. They've done the audatious deal of debuting The Devil Wears Prada the very same weekend as Superman Returns. It could work in their favour if Supes doesn't catch on like some people think it won't. Or... it could open to a mesely $5mil or whatever and quickly vanish. I want it to at least do something decent. For Meryl and Ann! Meryl is gonna get her 23489383b Golden Globe nomination - you can pencil that in right now. I wonder if she can get her 205475th Oscar nomination while she's at it. Thoughts?

There's no guarantee of a globe nom for this. The film could be bad and die a quick death, like Prime (I liked Prime, and thought Meryl deserved a globe nod, but it did not happen). We don't even know which category she'd be for this... she could be either category for both roles... how great would it be, though, if she got two globe noms this year? I personally don'tk now what to think of her oscar chances... it may not happen, but Prarie looks strong... though I'd feel better about its award prospects if it were still called The Last Broadcast. It may just be me, but I think awardsy titles matter (and A Prarie Home Companion just doesn't sound like a film, it sounds like a radio show transplant). Alright, anyway, I'm done. Phew.
p.s. the Streepathon will start as soon as I find 3 hours to get all the way through The Deer Hunter... finals are almost over now...
Okay, yeah, she might not. As I said the film may die. But if she can get nommed for Manchurian Candidate...
