umm, excited much?

Walking on Water director Tony Ayres is on the hunt for Chinese Australian for his new film, The Home Song Stories. Based on a true story, the film will star Twin Peaks' Joan Chen as a glamourous Shanghai nightclub singer who is struggling to fit in to Australian society with her children.

Yay. Joan Chen is fabo and in thew Tony Ayres film to boot.

That was in today's Hit. They also have a review of Brokeback Mountain to which they gave 5 stars/5. They also had a review of Munich and gave it, er, 1.5/5. "Filmmaker Steven Spielberg calls his controversial new film Munich 'a prayer for peace'. Yeah right. If this daft, directionless thriller is praying for anything, it is for a cut of the same booming market that has greeted The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy" and so it goes. Funny hah HAH. I wanna see it though if for no other reason than because One Day In September is one of my three favourite documentaries ever.

WOW! Found out that Martha Wainwright is playing at the Byron Bay Blues and Roots festival. I might have to check that one out!
