To the left here is a photo taken from Sundance of the poster for upcoming Aussie feature Clubland (Sourch). The film from director Cherie Nowlan (is she going to become another high profile female director?) stars Brenda Blethyn as a stand up comedian on the RSL circuit and the complications this has for her son (Khan Chittenden) and his new girlfriend (Emma Booth). It was purchased at Sundance for a cool $4mil by Warner Independent. There's a review of it over at First Showing that is very positive. It already has a score of 9.2 on IMDb, albeit, only from 12 votes. BUT WHATEVER! Even if it doesn't catch on in America (which I'm sure it won't - if stuff like The Proposition and Look Both Ways can't with exceptional reviews...) it seems like it will surely be a fixture at this year's AFI awards.
