Happy 40th Nicole!

Today is the 40th birthday (!) of Nicole Kidman. She of one of the most amazing resumes of the 21st century - Birth, Moulin Rouge!, Dogville, The Others and her Academy Award winning The Hours being the prime suspects, plus Eyes Wide Shut from 1999 just missing the cut. She, surely, has another entrant into that cannon with the upcoming Margot at the Wedding plus the much discussed Baz Luhrmann epic Australia alongside Hugh Jackman, which I have a hunch will add at least another Oscar nomination to her belt.

So, go watch one of Nicole's movies and celebrate! She deserves your worship.

I actually pulled out "To Die For" on Saturday afternoon and fell in love with Nic all over again. Were you happy with her performance in The Stepford Wives? I just couldn't get past Bette's contribution to uses for a pine cone during xmas I'm afraid, that totally stole the show for me.

oh adem...do not mention stepford wives...

talk about ruining a good book.

it's crazy to think of nicole as 40...she certainly plays younger.

I can't say Stepford Wives is good (it has the biggest plot hole in the history of cinema, no joke) but you're right about Bette. She made it tolerable.

Actually, I disagree with rc; she's not aging very well. She's over the hill and it's showing.

"over the hill?" she uses way too much botox but other than that, she is still gorgeous.

Yes, but one wonders what she must look like underneath all that Botox, in order for her to be using it so liberally. I think her best years are behind her, but if she just stopped putting things in her face and twisting it around, she might still look good. Or she might not. Tough to say. Hard to picture her as an old woman.

But don't take it the wrong way, Nicole, I still love you! I'd watch one of your movies today, but I don't have any. Unless I just watch Moulin Rouge! again...
