Thank God it's Clip Friday

I haven't done one of these is a while because I never had enough things to fill it with outside of music clips and movie trailers and i can do them anytime. But I have two clips for you that I just had to post. They are... well, they're fuckin' funny!

Mary J Blige and Shakira perform "Love is a Battlefield"
I don't like Shakira at the best of times, nor is Mary J Blige right up there for me, but oh dear god, when they duet at one of those annoying Divas Live concerts (which stopped being mildly entertaining when the "divas" started including people like, well, Shakira), singing Pat Benetar's classic "Love is a Battlefield". Now, as if the idea of those two duetting isn't weird enough, they went and chose an '80s song that just doesn't suit either of their voices. In the end it forms one god awful mess that I just couldn't stop watching. Seeing the ridiculous Shakira jump around doing her weird space alien warbling next to Mary J Blige doing her questionable vocal arobatics (at least she's trying to make the performance interesting i suppose) is sort've a gold mine for hilarity. My favourite bit was when one of them sings "We are young" while the other sings "We are strong". Listen to Shakira sing "no demands" and... well, my ears bled a little. For another delightful insight into this wonderful performance check out Singers at Heart. Funny, funny stuff.

Watch and Learn
I'm not even going to tell you what clip is, but it is most definitely one of the top 3 funniest things I've seen all year (I still think the pickle lady and the balloon lady are the funniest things I've seen all year. i go into hysterics just thinking about that). Just watch and be enthralled. It's educational too!

I was looking for the TGiCF entry that had the pickle lady link and when I found it I was surprised to find that it was also the entry with Britney Spears' unnatural high. And because she's been in the news lately, go watch that. It's funny. And weird. And sad.

OH! That TGiCF also has the Las Vegas scene featuring Lara Flynn Boyle flying off a skyscraper. Pretty much the greatest scene of television ever filmed.

Not how to sing, apparently.
