Hell Hath No Fury...
LIKE A WOMAN SCORNED! It's amazing what an upgrade to DVD and 5 or so years under your belt can do to a movie. After seeing Nat give Carrie an A I thought I'd go back and revisit it myself (there was a copy of it on my DVD shelf for some reason). The last time I saw it I was about 15 and I didn't like it too much. Maybe I was too impatient back then to sit through a horror movie (well, essentially) such as Carrie and get rewards from it. But watching it again now was like watching a symphony. Or some really high-class puppet show. Watching all the little pieces mix together to form one big fat giant piece of art. Watching DePalma twist and turn everything around up to and including the big finale. And picking out all the DePalma traits that I wasn't even aware of first time around. I didn't even realise back then the use of Psycho. I really mustn't have been paying attention. Whatever it was this time, I bloody well loved it. And, yes, I can only agree with Nat. A. That pig scene is still prime fast-forward material though. Ugh.

I love Nat :) Masterly symphony indeed; it's one of *the* classic horror films, but it's also a perfect comedy. I love it so much.
I'm writing an essay on Carrie right now! I even wrote a post about it. It was due Friday. Whoops.
Javi, on Carrie's IMDb trivia page both Piper Laurie and the blonde girl who pulls the rope thought the movie could only be a comedy because they were so over the top.
Simon, get back to work (says he who is blissfully ignoring the major assignment he has due in a few days. bah)
It's practically finished. It was due Friday, but there's only a couple of hundred words to go, and I pretty much know what they are, I just need to... get them in the right order. Only losing 2%, because it's a weekend.
I also have a linguistics one tomorrow, but it's easy and boring and not worth as much so whatever.
I'm currently writing about Crocodile Dundee for an assignment. I have to write about it as if I actually care.
