It was bound to happen eventually! Remember last year when everyone was discussing who it was gonna be? A lot of people wanted Ellen, but some (including myself) thought they would not use her for the year that had Brokeback Mountain in fear that she would grandstand or something. I'm so happy that Ellen has been chosen. She's is really great and her hosting of the Emmys has been good. And it makes more sense to use DeGeneres over someone like Chris Rock or John Stewart because she actually likes Hollywood and probably won't feel the need to go overboard on the "HOLLYWOOD IS STUPID" thing like Chris Rock did. I did like Stewart for the most part (his intershow bits were best, especially the campaign clips. But, yeah, I'm pulling for Ellen to be great.

Ellen DeGeneres To Host Academy Awards
