Scorsese huh?

How is it that Martin Scorsese's The Age of Innocence seems to go so ignored these days? It's not like it doesn't deal with similar themes as those in Raging Bull or Taxi Driver if you really think about it. It's not like it doesn't feature astounding performances (Daniel Day-Lewis could not do a thing wrong in my books. ever!). It looks and sounds fabo too. So why does it never get mentioned these days except in memorials to Winona Ryder's career?

Is it that Scorsese's pre-Innocence movies seem to have a definable maleness to them that men refuse to accept runs right through Age of Innocence? Because, ugh, get over it and LOOK AT THOSE COSTUMES. :P

This movie is fantastic. A-

Also, the library just got in the Good Night, and Good Luck soundtrack so I borrowed it. Great stuff by Dianne Reeves. My favourites are "You're Driving Me Crazy", "How High the Moon", "One For My Baby", "Straighten Up and Fly Right" and "TV Is the Thing This Year". Highly recommended. B+

Man, I discovered my old La Bouche CD today! Remember La Bouche!!! Loves it.

Age Of Innocene ranks as one of my last favorite Scorcese films (I haven't liked his recent work), have you read the book, its a good read.

I like 'I've Got My Eyes on You' from GN&GL, Diane Reeves is a fantastic singer.
