Oh, btw

I'm about to go to bed, but wanted to mention that at V for Vendetta we saw the trailer for Kokoda and... wow, this movie looks intense. Like Saving Private Ryan in the jungle. Most people reading won't have any bloody idea what the Kokoda Trail is, but a quick google should tell you. Here's a little linky for you. I have a feeling we have a strong candidate here. It's gonna be a grueling watch. My best friend Hannah said she doesn't think she'd be able to sit through it (and she's seen Private Ryan.) It looks very good, and it's out on (quite symbollically) ANZAC Day. Never mind what the old people think (lol) - they liked The Mummy Returns ("for the special effects").

For some odd reason there has never been a film about the Kokoda experience, which is very odd considering how steeped in history it is. But then, Australian film industry is (in my eyes) famous for not wanting to be too much like America and to turn famous events into film (television is a completely different story). Oh well, we'll see what happens. Plus, it's got a pretty good cast. Amongst others, Shane Bourne and William McInnes (of last year's ace Look Both Ways).
