John Williams

Are the Academy really going to place Williams' Memoirs of a Geisha score alongside Fiddler on the Roof, Jaws, Star Wars, ET and Schindler’s List. I hope (and predict) not.

I got back from a short vacation today, ready to muse over Oscar for the next two weeks. There was one thing I really wanted to mention but can't remember it for the life of me - i'll try and remember.

I really don't think so.

I think score will go to Brokeback. And if not Brokeback, P&P. Just a weird feeling. But really, it will go to Brokeback. The music is already legendary.

The strange thing? I can totally see Pride & Prejudice cleaning out the tech department's Oscar cabinets. And by that, I mean, Score, Costume and Production Design seem winnable and that would be great cause the film is great and i lovez it to pieces, y'all.

But, i do think Brokeback will get score and cinematography cause other than that they have nowhere else to vote for it outside of the biggies.
