The strange thing is (as much as I love Naomi) she probably would've made a better Ann Darrow. I really hope Naomi doesn't get Oscar nominated for Kong. That'd be silly.

Oh. My. God. Hehe I'm seeing "Kong" this very week and honestly hope to fall in love with Naomi... again. Her perf in "Mulholland" was so amazingly awesome.
Exactly. Btw Glenn you have the "1001" movies book?... I love it!
I'm cautiously excited about seeing Watts's much-hyped performance in King Kong, because I've been repeatedly disappointed by everything she's done since Mulholland Dr. (a pretty good turn in Huckabees is the exception).
See I didn't think Watts was anywhere near what some people say she is. I can't really explain why but I didn't really get the whole emotional shiz that so many critics are heralding. The scene where she walks up to him on the street made me laugh actually.
Her Mulholland Dr. perf was David Lynch's fault. I don't think Watts is that great an actress... her whole "darkness" schtick, though nice, has started to bore me. Huckabee's was good, though... I give her props for knowing how to use her screen persona, however limited in range it might be.
Maybe she's great in Kong, though, I don't know.
If you want to see a her BEST performance see "Plots With A View"
...or, better yet... don't, and hopefully realise that was clearly a lie.
